Composition-Controlled Structure and Colloidal Stability of Surfactant-Free Gold-Copper Alloy Nanoparticles Synthesized by Picosecond Laser Ablation in Liquid

By using picosecond laser ablation in water. (PPLAL) (λ-1064 nm, E=500 mJ, and Pulse=2000), we made colloidal nanoparticles of gold (Au) and Au-Cu alloys in DI water. The impact of (Au) and Au-Cu alloys compositions on structure, particle morphology, and nanocolloidal stability was thoroughly examined. X-ray diffraction verified a single-phase fcc solid-solution across all compositions, with the (111) peak changing consistently from 38.77° (Au) to 41.55° (Au₅₀Cu₅₀), corresponding with Vegard-like lattice contraction from
